Quartet win £490m North West & Central railway works deal

Network Rail has named the four firms it will use to deliver a planned £490m programme of major projects in its north west and central territory for control period 7.

The deal completes the award of a flight of frameworks set up covering the “Backbone of Britain” route over the next five years and sees Skanska and Kier take the biggest project lot.

The scope of works and services for the new framework is multi-disciplinary covering civil engineering, building and railway engineering.

Network Rail’s other partner for medium-sized and small works packages have also been revealed in the last month with Story also featuring in the selection of firms for the £1bn medium projects workbook.
